Ellis had his special weekend in Arlington where he got to hang out w/ his good friend Brandon & several other guys. They awoke early Saturday morning & immediately started cracking open cold beers in anticipation for the OU/Texas game - Ellis' biggest game of the year! He's the only OU fan amidst many Longhorn fans & so it's always exciting for him! He looks forward to this weekend & trip every year! He misses living close to Brandon & getting to watch football w/ him regularly! He sure enjoys this trip - the football, the friends, the beer & the homemade beef jerky Brandon makes for him! Ellis refers to this weekend as his "Christmas" because he gets as excited about it as much as a kid gets excited about Christmas!
So Chase & I had a weekend to ourselves! Friday started out w/ my hosting of my group's LCR game night. I had 6 great ladies (& several kids) over for a super-fun evening of good friends, lots of food, a great game, & some vino! Robin joined in on our game night & was introduced to the LCR game for the first time! I think she really enjoyed it & hopefully she'll be able to go w/ me next time too! She also brought along her sister, Kristi who was in town. They both won the first 2 games & had a blast! It was good to meet Kristi too after hearing all about her. Once game night was over (Chase spent the night at the neighbor's house) Robin, Kristi & I went to the great Katy hang out - Baker Street Pub. We each had 2 drinks there, then Kristi wanted to go dancing so we ventured over to Mo's until we found out it was a country bar. . . well Kristi had no desire for country, so we drove downtown to Drink Houston (a new one for all of us). Well, let's just say it was an experience. Kristi got to get her dancing out of her system, then we headed home! It was a fun night out & a rare one for me!

Saturday Chase & I had a fun day together. We went shopping at Kohl's, had lunch at my new favorite - Panera Bread, then ran a few errands & headed home where he took a 3 1/2 hour nap! Ellis probably would have preferred that we stayed home & watched the OU/Texas game, but oh well! At least we sported our OU apparel all day to show our Sooner pride! That night we watched movies & he got to cuddle up w/ me & sleep in my bed! Sunday we got up, ran some more errands, went to the park, had lunch out again, went shopping for Mommy a new purse, then I took him for ice cream. After we got home we hung out w/ some of the neighbors until Ellis & Rylie got home! We sure did miss them, but I know they both had a great weekend!
