Day #2 we started out w/ an early morning character breakast at Chef Mickey's restaurant at the Contemporary Resort. We had fun seeing some of our favorite characters all throughout our meal. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Donald all stopped by to say hello, take pictures & sign autographs. The autograph books were a huge hit! The kids loved collecting autographs, comparing how they signed, & counting them at the end of each day!
This is the kids in front of one of the many beautiful flower gardens at Disney - outside the Magic Kingdom when we were waiting to ride the Monorail to breakfast.
Goofy was first up to pay us a visit at our table!
This was not only our first FULL day at Disney, but it was also Ellis' 37th birthday! Notice his new t-shirt the kids picked out for him. . . Angry Birds is a family favorite in our house!
M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E
Ellis was treated to a birthday cupcake. . who doesn't want dessert w/ their breakfast?!
(Well, that's a rhetorical question since my husband is the one who wouldn't want it!)
He hated the b-day attention! :)
Everybody loves Donald Duck!
Pluto!
This was one of the FEW pics we managed to get w/ the 4 of us in it! Love Minnie!
After breakfast we hit our first theme park - Hollywood Studios! We were all ready for some thrill rides & lots of fun!!! First up. . . the Hollywood Tower of Terror! The kids will tell you they didn't like it, but Rylie smiled through the entire ride & that's all they talked about all week long!
Another character spotted that day was Handy Manny! Chase might tell you he's too big for Handy Manny, but I've caught him watching it many times! ;) Rylie didn't get in the pic because she & Ellis were holding our spot in line to watch The Voyage of The Little Mermaid show!
The line to meet Buzz Lightyear & Woody was about 45 min. long, but thankfully most of that was in an air-conditioned building. All along the line were different props for cute photo opportunities!
My little space rangers!
The Claw!!!
Ready to blast off!
Toy Story is a favorite around here . . no matter how old you are! We loved seeing Buzz & Woody. And we loved that the room was decorated to look like we were standing on Andy's bed!
Chase always says "Woody is my favorite cowboy!"
This green army man was something we laughed about all week long! He was standing as still as a statue (like a true green army man toy) & Chase had NO CLUE that he was a real person. He ran up to him full-speed & grabbed the army man's arm. Of course the guy natually reacted, but did good making minimal movements. But it was just enough to flip Chase out! OMG, it had people all around laughing at Chase's reaction. When it came time to take a pic, Chase made sure to stand a little farther away!
The kids' favorite show these days is Phineas & Ferb so we were thrilled to find them signing autographs! (Pardon the bad pics - Ellis was in charge of the camera so that I could be in a pic - yes I'm a secret fan of the boys.)
While in line for the Star Tours ride we ran across this dude - but as a mom of a boy I should totally know what/who he is, but sorry to say I'm not familiar w/ the Star Wars characters too much!
In line for Star Tours - gotta love 3D glasses!
A new look for us girls!
Later that day we ran across another green army man - this one not pretending to be a statue & we were able to get autographs & more pics!
While waiting for the Beauty & the Beast stage show to start the kids got to have their first Mickey Ice Cream of the week! And let me tell you it wasn't the last!
Later that afternoon, after many rides, lines, food & fun at Hollywood Studios we ventured over to the Magic Kingdom for some more fun & then to catch the most amazing fireworks show ever!
This is a beautiful flowerbed right outside the main gates of the Magic Kingdom!
First view of the castle! Rylie doesn't remember anything from her last trip to Disney World (she was only 2 1/2 then so it was like seeing it for the first time!)
Riding the Astro Orbiter w/ my girl! I was so thankful she picked me to ride most of the rides with! She's normally always picking her daddy!
We had to get a spot for the fireworks early, so the kids kept themselves busy playing Hangman & Tic-Tac-Toe!
That night we ran into our friends, the Vineyard's at the Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks show. We had planned on meeting up w/ them occasionally throughout the trip & this was another complete surprise for the kids. They surprised their kids w/ the Disney trip & we all surprised the kids by "running into" each other.
Cinderella's Castle all light up as part of the Magic, Memories & You show.
