September 16, 2007 not only marked our 7th wedding anniversary, but it was also the day we finally dedicated our kids to the Lord. It really should not have taken us this long, but we have finally found a church home in a town that we can comfortably call "home" after moving away from my original home!
Ellis managed to be off long enough this morning to attend church (half of the service anyway) & be there for the dedication ceremony. The kids looked adorable & did a great job. Luckily there wasn't much to do on our part but to stand there & look pretty! :) Pastor Jerry read the meanings of the kids' names (Rylie - Valiant & Chase - Hunter) & also picked a special scripture for each child. The kids also received age-appropriate Bibles as a keepsake. I'm so happy we finally got the chance to do this! Our church does this 3x a year. This year 2 of the times fell on special days to us - one was on Mother's Day which also happened to be my birthday this year, but as you all know - getting Ellis away from Spring Creek on Mother's Day is impossible. And today happened to be our anniversary & I didn't want to miss this opportunity!
We didn't get the opportunity to take pictures during the service, but we did try to get a few before we left the house, although neither kid was cooperating very well!
